Seasonal Allergies

A few people have been asking how Acupuncture can help for hayfever. Above in the picture I have shown a five points Auricular acupuncture protocol for hayfever.

The first point is a heat reducing point to help the body’s internal temperature. This point is really good at reducing any fevers not just allergic heat.

The second point is called Ping Chang point and that is your histamine point. It is telling the body to produce histamine to help fight the allergy.

The third point is the Sympathetic point. This point is a really good point for the balancing of the central nervous system. It directly tells the brain to stand down, relax and help the parasympathetic levels to balance out.

The fourth point is the adrenal glands. This is an important points because adrenaline is being pumped into the system and the body has gone into a fight or flight mode. By inserting a needle in the adrenal glands we are telling the body to stand down and to relax.

The fifth point is the occiput point. By inserting a needle in this point we are relaxing everything from the occiput upwards therefore helping with the eye irritations and the nose and relaxing the back of the skull.

In a nutshell for those suffering from hayfever auricular acupuncture really is a good substitute to taking antihistamines. This season is when the body’s sympathetic system and adrenal glands go into overdrive as it’s trying to fight everything in the air. By telling the body to relax and stand down and also to produce histamine to help combat what is in the air to irritate it really does make a good substitute.
